Bob posts a couple of time lapse movies: Clouds from outside his windows and shadows on the sidewalk. He posts in his weblog: "Something about my new time lapse movies I have up now. For those that wonder how I made them here it is. I used a shareware program called iStopMotion from Boinx. Basically you hook the camcorder to your Mac and set the program to take a frame at a certain interval. The clouds movie is one frame a second. The day shadows is one frame every 30 seconds. Incredibly simple to do. I hope to get one of Felix during the day when I'm gone, but I need to figure out how to keep the cat off of the PowerBook. Not easy."

dungeonmajesty.jpgJohn Adolph writes: "Just wanted to let you know that your software was used extensively in my wife's production "DUNGEON MAJESTY". Check out "shows" and view the teaser clip. We used iStopMotion for most of the backgrounds (dark caves, tunnels, etc) and 90% of the animation (dice, and figurines). Thanks for your product!"

FotoMagico reaches No. 7 in the Topseller list at Kagi - and is the No. 3 Mac Product in the list. iStopMotion appears twice in the top 50s list, once each for HR and DV versions.

Derrick Story recommends FotoMagico in his "Gifts for Mac Geeks" guide at macdevcenter.com: "FotoMagico opens new worlds for you pictures once you upload them from the memory card reader. You can create the ultimate digital slideshow with FotoMagico complete with pans, zooms, and music. It's fully compatible with both iPhoto and iTunes and outputs to QuickTime. You have to try this software to fully appreciate its power." And yes, the Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 15-in-1 Media Reader & Writer complements it nicely.

In regard to this program - it's awesome, and I really do enjoy using it, as well as the simplicity - and for the price, it's a steal!

vt5star.gifreanimateur writes on versiontracker.com: "But doesn't this slideshow app do one thing sooo crucial that the others don't, and that is doesn't assume you're trying to burn the slideshow down to CD/DVD and THEREFORE does not squash the images down to a measely 70 dpi? for low resolution TV sets???? If I'm right, its worth every penny not to mention more control over the Ken Burns effect. Granted they need more whistles and bells when it comes to adding transitions and effects, but most importantly, keeping a high res image and the ability to place in a slideshow without compressing it down (iMovie for example) is a saving grace here."

jewelboxing.jpgJim Coudal at Jewelboxing follows up on his promise and posts the ad they produced using iStopMotion: "Ant made a really sweet little ad for our Newstoday sponsorship. He used iStopMotion from Boinx, Flash, Photoshop and the desk in my office." Very professional work. Unfortunately I failed to embed the Flash file.

Oswald Cuervo runs a sort of weblog: "When I was a kid, I spent hours with Play-doh, imagining the day I could make my own full-length Gumby movies. Frustrated by a lack of technology and resources, I awaited the coming of a stop-motion capture utility that would bring these childhood dreams to fruition. That day has finally come. I'm quitting my job as a freelance designer the moment my copy of iStopMotion arrives." We are looking forward to seeing your work posted, Oswald.
