by Oliver - Wednesday, May 24, 2006 - Permalink
Rosario's Tech Info, the "One-Stop-Shop Blog for Mac, Photo and Tech Info" has this to say about FotoMagico: "Looking to do great slide shows? Fed up with iPhoto? Want more transitions? Want to keep your audience from falling asleep? Well, look no further. FotoMagico from Boinx (where did they come up with those names?) is one fantastic slideshow program. [...] Click here to see a sample slideshow I made in just ten minutes on my Powerbook."
Ah, the names. "FotoMagico" is the result of a naming contest we hosted back when we first introduced the application. "Boinx" happened one night in 1996 when we were sitting in my parents living room pondering the future of Mac Software Development...

I hope I get everything right from looking at the websites. Ruori is a performance art collaborative. On this weblog they report about their efforts creating a new show for the electro-music 2006 festival at Cheltenham Art Center in Philadelphia. They do animation with iStopMotion. Nice pictures from the set. "Having realtime onionskin capabilities in software is so helpful." I hope they post the movies.

"My employer, Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired wanted me to create a multimedia show to present at their annual business meeting on May 12th. The Theme: A Year in Review. This 11 minute show reflects the activities and achievements that happened during the 2005-2006 fiscal year. The introduction of the show quickly reflects the 103 year history of the Clovernook Center for the Blind. You will see our production department, Program (Rehab) Services, Community Relations, our Discovery Camp (for blind and visually impaired students), and a showcase (Home Grown) of art created by our blind consumers. The president and staff of Clovernook were very, very impressed with my show. Best regards, Larry Klug, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA."
